Sustainability is definitely the zeitgeist of the era we are into. Fashion industry is the second most polluting industry in the world. After taking a global agenda from oil and gas industries to save the planet and pollute less, it’s the turn of fashion industry.
With so many brands coming up with sustainable ideas in the fashion world, one such brand is THE FASHION PULPIT in Singapore. The founder and creator of the brand Raye Padit started with its connection with a NGO called Connected Threads Asia, that promotes and advances sustainable fashion in Singapore.

The brand was started 3 years ago with swapping events, panel discussions workshops etc. After promoting the brand for 3 years the founder came up with giving the brand a place for it to be available 365 days of the year. The store is located now at Liang Court with a massive space on level 2. You swap your clothes for knew ones, or upcycle them and swap or get a customised tailoring or fashion tricks on your clothes at the store. There is a inhouse team of designers always ready to help at the store with a small working space to upcycle your clothes.
We as fashion marketing students embarked on a opportunity to place and exhibit our sustainable business plans at the fashion pulpit store through the NGO Connected Threads Asia. The whole agenda of the exhibit of the projects was to throw some light and spread awareness of the business plans and ideas that can be adapted into the real fashion world. Since the other party supported sustainability it was a profit to both the brand and for we as students to show our works.
