A event held in Singapore on 6th February 2018. It was a Conference and a Expo as per their website. It looked like a grand event and also worth visiting. After all it was something about gaining knowledge about the new technology in the markets. But as we all know don’t judge a book by its cover. In this case the phrase goes very well. I learnt my lesson through this event. Never go on the promotions and the offers on such online platforms. The website of event looked, fabulous and made an impulse to visit it. The expo was inclusive of a exhibition of the latest products and a seminar held with really great people from the industry. But it dint turn out to be like that.
The event was at Suntec City Convention Center. After reaching the registration booth all the excitement was killed as soon as we got to know that there was no seminaar, for free registrations and college students. This was so heart breaking, that we had been conned. Even the exhibition consisted of just 8 stalls in total in a very small area. Also the people out there at the booths were least interested in giving a demo of the product or parting any knowledge about the need of the product. Its okay , but we learn from our mistakes. Though I learnt a little about things I dint knew about earlier.
Never ever believe on everything you see online. This gives us an idea that to what level brands are going on to promote themselves and create awareness , even if it comes to fooling their consumers they will for sure! . Promotional con need not be just the one online, it could be in many ways. It could be through brands , giving away damaged products in promotions and still earning profits as expected, or a wrong message in the promotions for a event , would lead you to the event but would be a benefit, awareness and popularity to the event. So beware and be smart!
